The Lake Oswego School District recently created a Board-appointed Committee on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. According to the district, membership will be available to students, staff, parents, community members, and other interested parties.
Working alongside the district's equity team, this new DEI advisory committee will meet monthly to develop a five-year equity plan. The committee will address a variety of subjects, including best practices from peer districts; ways to highlight and award students, staff, and community members who are doing exceptional work; and methods to develop better hiring strategies through an equity lens.
The district will be accepting applications from Apr. 6 through May 15.
