At last night's meeting Respond to Racism in Lake Oswego celebrated our 1st Anniversary. (Cupcakes provided by Jane Lovelady and members of the United Church of Christ.)
A high point in the evening was a moving talk by Nathan Sheppard, the Lake Oswego resident whose chilling experience a year ago provided the occasion for our launch. I'll let Mr. Sheppard tell the story himself, in his original blog post in June 2017.
A full report of the incident—and of our founding—appeared later that month in the Lake Oswego Review.
And the rest, as they say, is History!
