With Great Sorrow . . .

December 28, 2017

It is with great sorrow that we acknowledge the passing of Deirdre Mackey and her daughter Grace Misztal. Deirdre was a woman dedicated to improving our community as an active member and supporter of Respond to Racism in LO. She volunteered her time and energy to maintain communications for the group and she helped to lead and organize meetings. She demonstrated warmth, compassion and kindness towards her friends and members of the Lake Oswego community. Her compassion for humankind was recognized in her work to end racism in both the local and broader communities.
Deirdre and Grace lost their lives in a car accident that occurred as they were traveling to visit family on Christmas Day. Words cannot begin to express the loss we all feel as we process this tragedy. Our prayers and thoughts go out to Deirdre and Grace’s family and loved ones at this difficult time. Services will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Parish on Wednesday, January 3rd, at 11:00 am. We plan to honor Deirdre and Grace at our next meeting,January 8th. If you plan to attend, please register here.

Sincerely,
Shava, Willie, Liberty and Tom
